Little Treehugger
Online shop

The brief
Little Treehugger rescues pre-loved materials, mostly blankets and uniforms donated by hospitals, and turns them into children’s clothes, bags and “Nogwaja” bunnies. Alongside the upcycling, the brand runs education and community upliftment work.
The shop is for parents who care about the planet and about where things come from. It needed to give the brand a home online, and give its founder, Nadja, a place to show and sell what she makes.
My role
I was the lead designer and developer. Nadja gave us the logo, the colours and the heading font, Moon Flower. I designed the home page, the shop and the product page, built everything in Oxygen Classic with WooCommerce, and drew the icons that explain why the brand upcycles.

How I approached it
I started by looking at children’s clothing shops for inspiration, then designed the three pages that matter most: the home page, the shop and a single product page. From there I built them out, adjusting the design as I went whenever something worked better in the browser than on the canvas.
It was my first ecommerce build, so getting WooCommerce and Oxygen Classic to work together took some learning.

The result
The shop is live, and I trained Nadja to manage it herself.
